3. THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO, TO BE CARRIED OUT FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT THROUGHOUT ENGLAND AND WALES, ARE: 3.1 THE RELIEF OF SICKNESS AND THE PRESERVATION AND PROTECTION OF GOOD HEALTH AMONG MUSICIANS AND FREELANCE TECHNICAL PRODUCTION PERSONNEL (SOUND/LIGHTING ENGINEERS) WORKING IN THE MUSIC AND EVENTS INDUSTRIES WHO FIND THEMSELVES IN NEED OF PSYCHOLOGICAL SUPPORT FOR THEIR MENTAL HEALTH AND WELLBEING, INCLUDING BY THE FOLLOWING MEANS: 3.1.1 FUNDING ACCESS TO APPROPRIATE COUNSELLING SERVICES; 3.1.2 ASSISTING WITH FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR THOSE WORKING IN A FREELANCE CAPACITY WHO NEED REST AND RECUPERATION DURING PERIODS OF ILL-HEALTH; AND 3.1.3 RAISING AWARENESS OF MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES WITHIN THE MUSIC AND EVENTS INDUSTRIES. 3.2 THE RELIEF OF FINANCIAL HARDSHIP AMONG EARLY CAREER MUSICIANS BY PROVIDING GRANTS TO ENABLE THEM TO PURSUE THEIR MUSICAL STUDIES AND/OR OBTAIN INSTRUMENTS AND EQUIPMENT.
