Blue Spirit provides sailing experiences for young people (aged 14 to 25) who are experiencing a mental health challenge or facing social / economic disadvantage. Working in partnership with sail training organisations in the north-east of England, we offer anything from half-day dinghy sailing, weekend sails and 6-day residential voyages.

TO ADVANCE IN LIFE AND RELIEVE THE NEEDS OF YOUNG PEOPLE EXPERIENCING OR AT RISK OF EXPERIENCING POOR MENTAL HEALTH AND/OR FROM SOCIALLY AND ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED BACKGROUNDS THROUGH: (A) THE PROVISION OF RECREATIONAL AND LEISURE TIME ACTIVITIES IN SUBSIDIZED SAILING EXPERIENCES PROVIDED IN THE INTEREST OF SOCIAL WELFARE, DESIGNED TO IMPROVE THEIR CONDITIONS OF LIFE; (B) PROVIDING SUPPORT AND ACTIVITIES WHICH DEVELOP THEIR SKILLS, CAPACITIES AND CAPABILITIES TO ENABLE THEM TO PARTICIPATE IN SOCIETY AS MATURE AND RESPONSIBLE INDIVIDUALS.
