Charitable objects
THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE: (1) TO PROMOTE THE REHABILITATION OF OFFENDERS AND EX-OFFENDERS BACK INTO SOCIETY IN ORDER TO HELP PREVENT REOFFENDING AND TO ENABLE THEM TO BE INDEPENDENT, RESPONSIBLE INDIVIDUALS, BY PROVIDING ADVICE AND ASSISTANCE IN PARTICULAR IN RELATION TO HELPING THEM FIND EMPLOYMENT, IMPROVING THEIR PHYSICAL AND MENTAL WELLBEING, AND PROMOTING COMMUNITY COHESION. (2) TO PROMOTE SOCIAL INCLUSION FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT BY PREVENTING PEOPLE IN LONDON FROM BECOMING SOCIALLY EXCLUDED, RELIEVING THE NEEDS OF THOSE PEOPLE WHO ARE SOCIALLY EXCLUDED AND ASSISTING THEM TO INTEGRATE INTO AND THRIVE IN SOCIETY. FOR THE PURPOSE OF THIS CLAUSE ‘SOCIALLY EXCLUDED’ MEANS BEING EXCLUDED FROM SOCIETY, OR PARTS OF SOCIETY, AS A RESULT OF BEING A MEMBER OF A SOCIALLY AND ECONOMICALLY DEPRIVED COMMUNITY, IN PARTICULAR RACE, ETHNICITY, CLASS, SEX, ILL HEALTH (PHYSICAL OR MENTAL), FINANCIAL HARDSHIP, AND CRIME (EITHER AS A VICTIM OF CRIME, A FAMILY MEMBER OF AN OFFENDER, AN EX-OFFENDER, OR AS AN OFFENDER REHABILITATING INTO SOCIETY). (3) TO ADVANCE IN LIFE AND HELP YOUNG PEOPLE THROUGH: (A) THE PROVISION OF RECREATIONAL AND LEISURE TIME ACTIVITIES PROVIDED IN THE INTEREST OF SOCIAL WELFARE, DESIGNED TO IMPROVE THEIR CONDITIONS OF LIFE; (B) PROVIDING SUPPORT AND ACTIVITIES WHICH DEVELOP THEIR SKILLS, CAPACITIES AND CAPABILITIES TO ENABLE THEM TO PARTICIPATE IN SOCIETY AS MATURE AND RESPONSIBLE INDIVIDUALS; (C) ADVANCING EDUCATION; AND (D) RELIEVING UNEMPLOYMENT.
