Charitable objects
The objects of the CIO are, for the public benefit: 1. To relieve poverty and financial hardship among individuals and communities in Burdett Estate and the surrounding areas of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, elsewhere in the United Kingdom, and internationally. 2. To promote for the benefit of the inhabitants of Burdett Estate and the surrounding areas of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets and elsewhere by the provision of facilities for recreation or other leisure time occupation of individuals who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disablement, financial hardship or social and economic circumstances or for the public at large in the interests of social welfare and with the object of improving the condition of life of the said inhabitants. 3. To preserve and protect the health and wellbeing of beneficiaries by providing activities that improve physical health and resilience. 4. To advance education and training in particular but not exclusively by providing homework clubs, adult learning courses, English language classes and digital skills. 5. To further such other purposes which are exclusively charitable according to the law of England and Wales as the trustees in their absolute discretion may determine.
