THE OBJECT OF THE CIO IS TO ADVANCE THE CHRISTIAN FAITH FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE STATEMENT OF FAITH IN THE SCHEDULE HERETO, PRIMARILY IN ENGLAND AND WALES, AND ALSO IN SUCH OTHER PARTS OF THE UNITED KINGDOM OR THE WORLD AS THE CHARITY TRUSTEES MAY FROM TIME TO TIME THINK FIT. THIS OBJECT WILL BE ACHIEVED MAINLY, BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY, BY ACTIVITIES INTENDED TO SPREAD THE CHRISTIAN GOSPEL AND EDIFY CHRISTIANS, INCLUDING: - THE HOLDING OF PROPERTIES TO BE USED AS PLACES OF CHRISTIAN WORSHIP OR FOR RELATED CHRISTIAN ACTIVITIES; AND - THE MAKING OF GRANTS AND LOANS TO SUPPORT CHRISTIAN WORK. NOTHING IN THIS CONSTITUTION SHALL AUTHORISE AN APPLICATION OF THE PROPERTY OF THE CIO FOR THE PURPOSES WHICH ARE NOT CHARITABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LAWS OF ENGLAND AND WALES.
