Activities - how the charity spends its money
NYFTE gives young people (aged 10 to 18) from across England the opportunity to perform a variety of English folk dance traditions, folk songs and music to a high standard. NYFTE's performances can be seen at festivals, ceilidhs, workshops and other public events and we aim to promote the understanding of, participation in and enjoyment of traditional English dances, music and song to everyone.

TO ADVANCE, IMPROVE, DEVELOP AND MAINTAIN PUBLIC EDUCATION IN, AND APPRECIATION OF, THE ART OF TRADITIONAL ENGLISH DANCE FORMS, FOLK MUSIC AND FOLK SONGS AND THE CULTURE, HISTORY AND TRADITIONS THAT ACCOMPANY SUCH TOPICS THROUGH THE PRESENTATION OF PUBLIC EVENTS AND PERFORMANCES, WORKSHOPS AND EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES. TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF YOUNG PEOPLE IN ENGLISH FOLK DANCES, MUSIC AND SONGS. NOTHING IN THIS CONSTITUTION SHALL AUTHORISE AN APPLICATION OF THE PROPERTY OF THE CIO FOR THE PURPOSES WHICH ARE NOT CHARITABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 7 OF THE CHARITIES AND TRUSTEE INVESTMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 2005 AND SECTION 2 OF THE CHARITIES ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 2008.
