THE OBJECT OF THE CIO IS: THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT IN SUB-SAHARAN AFRICA, AND SUCH OTHER PARTS OF THE WORLD AS THE TRUSTEES SHALL FROM TIME TO TIME DETERMINE, BY PROVIDING TECHNICAL MENTORING AND TRAINING IN ENGINEERING AND CONSTRUCTION (WITH A FOCUS ON AN UNDERSTANDING OF THE SPECIFICS OF NATIONAL INFRASTRUCTURE, SUCH AS WATER AND SANITATION, POWER AND ENERGY AND SUSTAINABLE CITIES AND COMMUNITIES) TO SOCIALLY AND ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED YOUNG TECHNICAL APPRENTICES AND EARLY-CAREER GRADUATES WHO HAVE LITTLE OR NO ACCESS TO QUALITY EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES, FOR THE PURPOSES OF BECOMING REGISTERED OR CHARTERED PROFESSIONALS.
