THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT TO: 3.1 PROMOTE THE CONSERVATION, PROTECTION AND IMPROVEMENT OF THE PHYSICAL AND NATURAL ENVIRONMENT OF THE PLYMOUTH SOUND NATIONAL MARINE PARK AND SOUTH WEST ENGLAND, IN PARTICULAR, BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY, BY PROMOTING BIODIVERSITY AND BY DELIVERING OR ASSISTING IN THE DELIVERY OF PROJECTS WHICH REDUCE THE IMPACT OF CLIMATE CHANGE; 3.2 ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN RELATION TO CONSERVATION, HERITAGE, MARINE CITIZENSHIP, AND THE MARINE ENVIRONMENT, OF THE NATIONAL MARINE PARK, IN PARTICULAR, BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY, BY DELIVERING AND SUPPORTING ACTIVITIES AND PROJECTS THAT SUPPORT OCEAN AND CIVIC LITERACY, EXPERIENCE OF THE MARINE ENVIRONMENT, AND BY USING THE ARTS AS A TOOL TO ENGAGE PEOPLE IN SUCH EDUCATION; 3.3 IN FURTHERANCE OF THE PURPOSES SET OUT AT CLAUSES 3.1 AND 3.2 THE CIO WILL ALSO COMMISSION AND UNDERTAKE RESEARCH (AND DISSEMINATE THE USEFUL RESULTS THEREOF).
