Activities - how the charity spends its money
The Scholarship is provided in the form of funds towards the fees of the Bar Training Course. It is available to applicants who meet the criteria as members of an under represented group at the Bar of England and Wales, with the aim of assisting those who wish to practise as a Barrister on the North Eastern Circuit to complete their studies.

Charitable objects
THE OBJECTS OF THE CHARITY ARE: FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT TO PROMOTE THE EDUCATION OF PEOPLE WHO ARE IN THE FINAL YEAR OF THEIR LAW DEGREE OR STUDYING THE BAR PROFESSIONAL TRAINING COURSE WHO WISH TO PURSUE STUDIES IN CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAW BY THE PROVISION OF A SCHOLARSHIP FUND TO UNDERTAKE COURSES, WORK PLACEMENTS OR PROVIDE ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY TO AID LEARNING, SPECIFICALLY DIRECTED TOWARDS PERSONS WHO ARE TYPICALLY UNDERREPRESENTED AT THE BAR OF ENGLAND AND WALES. FOR THE PURPOSES OF THIS CLAUSE, PERSONS WHO ARE TYPICALLY UNDERREPRESENTED AT THE BAR OF ENGLAND AND WALES IS TAKEN TO MEAN: A) ARE FROM AN ETHNIC MINORITY; B) ARE FEMALE; C) HAVE A DISABILITY, WHETHER PHYSICAL OR NEUROLOGICAL; D) ARE FROM A LOW-INCOME BACKGROUND; E) REPRESENT THE FIRST GENERATION OF THEIR FAMILY TO GO TO UNIVERSITY; OR F) HAVE EXPERIENCED THE CARE SYSTEM, WHETHER AS CARE GIVERS OR CARE LEAVERS.
