Our work aims to close gender gaps, increase access to opportunities and address systemic challenges like harassment, in order to foster a more diverse, inclusive workforce to protect the ocean and achieve UN SDGs 5 and 14.

THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO, FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT, ARE: 1. TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF WOMEN IN THE SUBJECTS OF OCEAN SCIENCE AND RELATED SCIENCES BY PROVIDING TALKS, WORKSHOPS AND PODCASTS. 2. TO PROMOTE EQUALITY AND DIVERSITY WITHIN THE OCEAN SCIENCE SECTOR AND RELATED SECTORS BY THE ELIMINATION OF DISCRIMINATION ON THE GROUNDS OF GENDER, ADVANCING EDUCATION AND RAISING AWARENESS IN EQUALITY AND DIVERSITY, AND BY CONDUCTING OR COMMISSIONING RESEARCH ON EQUALITY AND DIVERSITY ISSUES IN THESE SECTORS AND PUBLISHING THE RESULTS TO THE PUBLIC.
