THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE THE ENCOURAGEMENT BY EVERY MEANS OF THE STUDY OF NATURAL HISTORY IN ALL ITS BRANCHES AND THE CONSERVATION OF THE NATURAL ENVIRONMENT IN THE NORTH EAST OF ENGLAND INCLUDING ITS GEOLOGY, FLORA AND FAUNA.
