(A) THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION (PRINCIPALLY BUSINESS EDUCATION, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION THE STUDY OF ECONOMICS AND FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT AND ACCOUNTANCY) BY THE MAKING OF GRANTS TO INDIVIDUALS OR FOUNDING OF SCHOLARSHIPS AT ENGLISH INSTITUTIONS PROVIDING FURTHER, HIGHER OR VOCATIONAL EDUCATION TO BENEFIT INDIVIDUALS OVER THE AGE OF 18 FROM WITHIN THE SOMERSET AREA (WITH A PREFERENCE FOR THOSE COMING FROM THE CITY OF WELLS) WHO WOULD OTHERWISE BE UNABLE FINANCIALLY TO PURSUE FURTHER, HIGHER OR VOCATIONAL EDUCATION; AND (B) FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT, THE RELIEF OF FINANCIAL HARDSHIP BY PROVIDING GRANTS TO INDIVIDUALS TO COVER RENT/ACCOMMODATION, TRAVEL COSTS, CHILDCARE COSTS, COURSE MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT INCLUDING LAPTOP COMPUTER OR OTHER DEVICES PROVIDED THEY ARE IN PURSUIT OF ADVANCING THEIR EDUCATION.
