Charitable objects
THE OBJECTS FOR WHICH THE CHARITY IS ESTABLISHED FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC ARE: 1) TO SUPPORT AND ENHANCE GOOD HEALTH AND TO PROMOTE SOCIAL INCLUSION FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT BY OFFERING INCLUSIVE OPPORTUNITIES TO PREVENT [OR REDUCE THE LIKELIHOOD OF] PEOPLE FROM BECOMING SOCIALLY EXCLUDED, RELIEVING THE NEEDS OF THOSE PEOPLE WHO ARE SOCIALLY EXCLUDED AND ASSISTING THEM TO INTEGRATE INTO SOCIETY THROUGH: A) THE TARGETED USE OF MUSIC, WITH PARTICULAR EMPHASIS ON STRENGTHENING OPPORTUNITIES FOR SOCIAL ENGAGEMENT; B) THE PROVISION OF TRAINING, RESOURCES AND SUPPORT FOR INDIVIDUALS WORKING IN THE HEALTHCARE, EDUCATION AND SOCIAL CARE SECTORS; AND C) THE ADVANCEMENT OF THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC CONCERNING MUSIC THERAPY AND THE TARGETED USE OF MUSIC WITHIN CARE. FOR THE PURPOSE OF THIS CLAUSE ‘SOCIALLY EXCLUDED’ MEANS BEING EXCLUDED FROM SOCIETY, OR PARTS OF SOCIETY, AS A RESULT OF DISABILITY, ILLNESS OR SOCIAL INJUSTICE. 2) SUCH OTHER EXCLUSIVELY CHARITABLE PURPOSES ACCORDING TO THE LAW OF ENGLAND AND WALES AS THE TRUSTEES OF THE CHARITY MAY IN THEIR ABSOLUTE DISCRETION DETERMINE. NOTHING IN THIS CONSTITUTION SHALL AUTHORISE AN APPLICATION OF THE PROPERTY OF THE CIO FOR THE PURPOSES WHICH ARE NOT CHARITABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH [SECTION 7 OF THE CHARITIES AND TRUSTEE INVESTMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 2005] AND [SECTION 2 OF THE CHARITIES ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 2008].
