THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO, TO BE CARRIED OUT FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT ON LAND OWNED BY THE CIO LOCATED ADJACENT TO THE NOB END SSSI AND MOSES GATE LOCAL NATURE RESERVE, IN BOLTON LANCASHIRE, ARE: (1) THE PRESERVATION AND RESTORATION OF A SECTION OF THE HISTORIC MANCHESTER BURY BOLTON CANAL, INCLUDING FOOTPATHS ALONG THE WATERWAY TO FACILITATE NAVIGATION AND LEISURE TIME ACTIVITIES IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE WITH THE OBJECT OF IMPROVING CONDITIONS OF LIFE OF THE LOCAL RESIDENTS; (2) THE CONSERVATION OF FLORA, FAUNA AND THE NATURAL ENVIRONMENT TO PROMOTE BIODIVERSITY, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WOODLAND RESTORATION AND TREE PLANTING PROGRAMS; AND (3) THE ADVANCEMENT OF THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN RELATION TO SUCH PRESERVATION AND CONSERVATION WORK.
