Charitable objects
THE OBJECT OF THE CIO IS TO ADVANCE THE CHRISTIAN FAITH FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE STATEMENT OF FAITH IN THE SCHEDULE HERETO, PRIMARILY IN CARDIFF AND THE SURROUNDING AREA, AND ALSO IN SUCH OTHER PARTS OF THE UNITED KINGDOM OR THE WORLD AS THE CHARITY TRUSTEES MAY FROM TIME TO TIME THINK FIT. THIS OBJECT WILL BE ACHIEVED MAINLY, BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY, BY ACTIVITIES INTENDED TO SPREAD THE CHRISTIAN GOSPEL AND BUILD UP CHRISTIANS IN THEIR FAITH, INCLUDING: (1) THE OPERATION OF A RELIGIOUS BUILDING OR BUILDINGS FOR USE AS A PLACE OF CHRISTIAN WORSHIP AND FOR COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES CONSISTENT WITH THE CIO'S CHRISTIAN ETHOS; AND (2) SUPPORTING WORK CARRIED ON BY OTHERS, WHERE SUCH SUPPORT FURTHERS THIS OBJECT. NOTHING IN THIS CONSTITUTION SHALL AUTHORISE AN APPLICATION OF THE PROPERTY OF THE CIO FOR PURPOSES WHICH ARE NOT CHARITABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LAWS OF ENGLAND AND WALES.
