FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT, THE ADVANCEMENT OF THE ART OF PLAYWRITING AND THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN THE WORK OF PLAYWRIGHTS FROM THE UK OR IRELAND WHO SELF-IDENTIFY AS WOMEN OR NON BINARY AND WHO ARE UNDERREPRESENTED IN THEATRE BY: (1) THE PRODUCTION, PUBLICATION AND LICENSING OF SUCH PLAYS IN THE UK OR IRELAND SO THE PUBLIC CAN ACCESS THEM AND BE EXPOSED TO NEW DRAMATIC VOICES FROM AN UNDERREPRESENTED GROUP; AND (2) THE AWARD OF AN ANNUAL PRIZE OR PRIZES FOR SUCH PLAYS, AS SELECTED BY A PANEL OF EXPERTS, IN ORDER TO ENCOURAGE WOMEN AND NON-BINARY WRITERS TO ENGAGE IN PLAYWRITING AND FACILITATE THE PUBLIC’S ACCESS TO WORK OF A HIGH CALIBRE.
