Charitable objects
THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE: 3.1 TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN THE SUBJECT OF HUMAN RIGHTS AND TO PROMOTE AND COMMISSION RESEARCH INTO THE MAINTENANCE AND OBSERVATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS IN CHINA; 3.2 TO RELIEVE THE NEEDS OF REFUGEES, IN PARTICULAR THOSE WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED HUMAN RIGHTS ABUSE BY THE PROVISION OF PRACTICAL SUPPORT SUCH AS FINDING ACCOMMODATION, OFFERING ADVOCACY, ADVICE AND GUIDANCE TO ACCESS RESOURCES, TRANSLATION SERVICES AND SIGNPOSTING TO OTHER SUPPORT RESOURCES AND AGENCIES. 3.3 TO PROMOTE SOCIAL INCLUSION FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT BY WORKING WITH PEOPLE WHO ARE SOCIALLY EXCLUDED ON THE GROUNDS OF THEIR ETHNIC ORIGIN (IN PARTICULAR, MEMBERS OF THE CHINESE COMMUNITY STUDYING IN THE UK) TO RELIEVE THE NEEDS OF SUCH PEOPLE AND ASSIST THEM TO INTEGRATE INTO SOCIETY, BY: * PROVIDING PRACTICAL SUPPORT TO DEVELOP ENGLISH LANGUAGE SKILLS; * PROVIDING INFORMATION, ADVOCACY AND GENERAL SUPPORT. IN THIS CONSTITUTION "HUMAN RIGHTS" SHALL MEAN THOSE RIGHTS SET OUT IN THE UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS AND SUBSEQUENT UNITED NATIONS CONVENTIONS AND DECLARATIONS.
