TO FOSTER AND PROMOTE THE ADVANCEMENT AND IMPROVEMENT OF GENERAL EDUCATION IN ALL ASPECTS OF THE ART OF 'STUDIO CERAMICS' AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF PUBLIC APPRECIATION OF SUCH ART BY: * AWARDING GRANTS TO FUND AND PROMOTE RESEARCH FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT IN ALL ASPECTS OF ‘STUDIO CERAMICS’ AND TO PUBLISH THE USEFUL RESULTS; * PROVIDING EXHIBITIONS OF THE WORKS OF PRE-EMINENT POTTERS IN THE FIELD OF ‘STUDIO CERAMICS’ AND ORGANISING LECTURES, WORKSHOPS AND PANEL DISCUSSIONS DESIGNED TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC IN THIS FIELD. FOR THE PURPOSE OF THIS CLAUSE ‘STUDIO CERAMICS’ MEANS CLAY WORK DESIGNED AND MADE BY ONE ARTIST, SOMETIME WITH ASSISTANTS, IN A WORKSHOP SETTING.
