We promote arts and culture for the public benefit in the genre of 'jazz' and improvised music by organising events, creating artistic opportunities for innovation, collaboration and performance in Brecon and engaging with the widest and most diverse publics, especially younger people, exhibiting, documenting and securing the Brecon Jazz heritage, Brecon Jazz brand and cultural assets.

THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE: TO ADVANCE AND PROMOTE ARTS AND CULTURE FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT IN THE GENRE OF 'JAZZ' AND IMPROVISED MUSIC BY ORGANISING EVENTS, CREATING ARTISTIC OPPORTUNITIES FOR INNOVATION, COLLABORATION AND PERFORMANCE IN BRECON AND ENGAGING WITH THE WIDEST AND MOST DIVERSE PUBLICS, ESPECIALLY YOUNGER PEOPLE, EXHIBITING, DOCUMENTING AND SECURING THE BRECON JAZZ HERITAGE, BRECON JAZZ BRAND AND CULTURAL ASSETS. NOTHING IN THIS CONSTITUTION SHALL AUTHORISE AN APPLICATION OF THE PROPERTY OF THE CIO FOR THE PURPOSES WHICH ARE NOT CHARITABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH [SECTION 7 OF THE CHARITIES AND TRUSTEE INVESTMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 2005] AND [SECTION 2 OF THE CHARITIES ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 2008].
