Charitable objects
THE OBJECT OF THE CIO IS: 3.1 THE PROMOTION OF THE VOLUNTARY SECTOR IN NOTTINGHAM AND THE SURROUNDING AREA FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT BY: 3.1.1 LIAISING WITH AND HARNESSING COLLABORATION BETWEEN CHARITIES, VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS, AND PRIVATE AND PUBLIC SECTOR ORGANISATIONS; 3.1.2 IDENTIFYING NEEDS IN THE VOLUNTARY SECTOR AND ESTABLISHING PROJECTS OR POLICIES TO ADDRESS THEM, WITH A PARTICULAR FOCUS ON GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT PROCESSES; 3.1.3 ASSISTING IN THE ADMINISTRATION OF FUNDING PROGRAMMES TO CHARITIES AND VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS, MONITORING FOR GRANTS, RECOMMENDING GRANTS, ASSISTING IN APPLICATIONS FOR GRANTS; 3.1.4 PROVIDING TRAINING, CONFERENCES AND SEMINARS ON SUBJECTS RELEVANT TO THE EFFICIENCY OF THE VOLUNTARY SECTOR; AND 3.1.5 PROVIDING ADVICE AND SUPPORT TO ORGANISATIONS ON HOW TO ESTABLISH CHARITIES AND VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS. 3.2 THE VOLUNTARY SECTOR MEANS CHARITIES AND VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS. CHARITIES ARE ORGANISATIONS WHICH ARE ESTABLISHED FOR EXCLUSIVELY CHARITABLE PURPOSES IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LAW OF ENGLAND AND WALES. VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS ARE INDEPENDENT ORGANISATIONS WHICH ARE ESTABLISHED FOR PURPOSES THAT ADD VALUE TO THE COMMUNITY AS A WHOLE, OR A SIGNIFICANT SECTION OF THE COMMUNITY, AND WHICH ARE NOT PERMITTED BY THEIR CONSTITUTION TO MAKE A PROFIT FOR PRIVATE DISTRIBUTION. VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS DOES NOT INCLUDE LOCAL GOVERNMENT OR OTHER STATUTORY AUTHORITIES.
