THE OBJECT OF THE CIO IS TO ADVANCE WORLDWIDE SUCH PURPOSES AS ARE EXCLUSIVELY CHARITABLE WITHIN THE LAWS OF ENGLAND AND WALES FOR THE TIME BEING CARRIED ON OR SUPPORTED BY THE SOCIETY AS THE TRUSTEES WITH THE APPROVAL OF THE SUPERIOR GENERAL SHALL FROM TIME TO TIME THINK FIT AND IF AT ANY TIME THE SOCIETY SHALL CEASE TO EXIST OR TO CARRY ON OR SUPPORT ANY CHARITABLE WORKS THEN FOR SUCH EXCLUSIVELY CHARITABLE PURPOSES IN CONNECTION WITH THE ADVANCEMENT OF THE ROMAN CATHOLIC RELIGION AS THE TRUSTEES SHALL IN THEIR DISCRETION THINK FIT.
