THE FOLLOWING OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT AND WILL BE FURTHER BY MAKING GRANTS TO REGISTERED CHARITIES (ACCORDING TO THE LAW OF ENGLAND AND WALES) AS THE TRUSTEES IN THEIR ABSOLUTE DISCRETION SEE FIT:- TO PROMOTE FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC THE CONSERVATION PROTECTION AND IMPROVEMENT OF THE PHYSICAL AND NATURAL ENVIRONMENT; TO PROMOTE HUMANE BEHAVIOUR TOWARDS ANIMALS BY PROVIDING APPROPRIATE CARE, PROTECTION, TREATMENT AND SECURITY FOR ANIMALS WHICH ARE IN NEED OF CARE AND ATTENTION BY REASON OF SICKNESS, MALTREATMENT, POOR CIRCUMSTANCES OR ILL USAGE AND TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC IN MATTERS PERTAINING TO ANIMAL WELFARE IN GENERAL AND THE PREVENTION OF CRUELTY AND SUFFERING AMONG ANIMALS; AND TO PRESERVE AND PROTECT PHYSICAL AND MENTAL HEALTH BY ASSISTING IN THE TREATMENT AND CARE OF PERSONS SUFFERING FROM MENTAL OR PHYSICAL ILLNESS OF ANY DESCRIPTION OR IN NEED OF REHABILITATION AS A RESULT OF SUCH ILLNESS, THROUGH ANIMAL ASSISTED THERAPY.
