3.1 THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT TO RELIEVE THE NEEDS OF PEOPLE SUFFERING FROM AND AFFECTED BY PECTUS MALFORMATIONS OR DEFORMITIES, THEIR FAMILIES AND CARERS IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY BY: 3.1.1 PROVIDING OR ASSISTING IN PROVIDING INFORMATION AND SOURCES OF ADVICE ABOUT PECTUS MALFORMATIONS AND DEFORMITIES; 3.1.2 ADVANCING EDUCATION AND KNOWLEDGE ABOUT PECTUS MALFORMATIONS AND DEFORMITIES WITH THE AIM OF RAISING AWARENESS OF THEM AND IMPROVING STANDARDS OF CARE FOR THOSE SUFFERING FROM THEM; 3.1.3 SUPPORTING RESEARCH INTO THE CAUSES, PREVENTION AND TREATMENT OF PECTUS MALFORMATIONS AND DEFORMITIES AND DISSEMINATING THE RESULTS OF SUCH RESEARCH; AND 3.1.4 PROVIDING FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO SUPPORT TRAVELLING EXPENSES AND ACCOMMODATION COSTS INCURRED BY PATIENTS RECEIVING TREATMENT FOR PECTUS MALFORMATIONS OR DEFORMITIES
