GRI-UK works to drive research into treatments and cures for GRI Disorders (GRIA, GRID, GRIK, & GRIN); Support families so that those diagnosed can lead the best life possible; Raise awareness of GRI disorders within UK heath systems to enable better diagnosis/treatment; and Bring together a range of partners to make the UK a centre of excellence for finding treatments and cures to GRI conditions.

THE CIO’S OBJECT IS TO PRESERVE AND PROTECT GOOD HEALTH FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY OF PEOPLE WITH GRIA, GRID, GRIK, & GRIN GENE DISORDERS BY:- AIMING TO ADVANCE CURES AND TREATMENTS; SUPPORTING FAMILIES SO THAT THOSE DIAGNOSED WITH THESE DISORDERS CAN LEAD THE BEST LIFE POSSIBLE; RAISING AWARENESS, INCLUDING WITHIN THE UK HEALTH SERVICE, AND MEDICAL CENTRES OF THE SYMPTOMS, NEEDS AND MEDICAL CONDITIONS OF THOSE LIVING WITH GRI DISORDERS TO HELP ENABLE BETTER AND FASTER ACCESS TO DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENTS; MAKING THE UK A CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT OF FINDING TREATMENTS AND CURES FOR GRI DISORDERS; AND BY FOCUSING ON BRINGING TOGETHER PATIENTS, PARENTS, FAMILY MEMBERS, MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS, RESEARCHERS, SCIENTISTS, PHARMACEUTICAL, BIOSCIENCE AND ACADEMIC COMMUNITIES.
