Charitable objects
IN THIS CLAUSE, ‘SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT’ MEANS DEVELOPMENT WHICH MEETS THE NEEDS OF THE PRESENT WITHOUT COMPROMISING THE ABILITY OF FUTURE GENERATIONS TO MEET THEIR OWN NEEDS. 3.2 THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE TO ADVANCE SUCH CHARITABLE PURPOSES (ACCORDING TO THE LAW OF ENGLAND AND WALES) AS THE TRUSTEES SEE FIT FROM TIME TO TIME FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT, IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT LIMITED TO: 3.2.1 PROMOTING SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT BY (A) THE PRESERVATION, CONSERVATION AND THE PROTECTION OF THE ENVIRONMENT AND THE PRUDENT USE OF NATURAL RESOURCES; (B) THE RELIEF OF POVERTY AND THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE CONDITIONS OF LIFE IN SOCIALLY AND ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED COMMUNITIES; (C) THE PROMOTION OF SUSTAINABLE MEANS OF ACHIEVING ECONOMIC GROWTH AND REGENERATION; 3.2.2 PROVIDING SERVICES FOR THE RELIEF OF PEOPLE IN NEED BY REASON OF YOUTH, AGE, ILL-HEALTH, DISABILITY, FINANCIAL OR OTHER DISADVANTAGE; 3.2.3 PROVIDING FACILITIES (OR ASSISTING IN THE PROVISION OF FACILITIES) IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE FOR RECREATION, AMATEUR SPORTS OR OTHER LEISURE TIME OCCUPATION, EITHER (A) TO THE PUBLIC AT LARGE OR (B) FOR THOSE WHO HAVE NEED OF SUCH FACILITIES BY REASON OF YOUTH, AGE, ILL-HEALTH, DISABILITY, FINANCIAL OR OTHER DISADVANTAGE; 3.2.4 SUPPORTING FURTHER EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN PARTICULAR REGARDING SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT AND THE PROTECTION, ENHANCEMENTS AND REHABILITATION OF THE ENVIRONMENT; BY PROVIDING GRANTS AND VOLUNTEERS.
