THE OBJECT[S] OF THE CIO IS: TO PRESERVE, REPAIR, RESTORE AND MAINTAIN FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT HELEN, A HISTORIC LIFEBOAT BUILT IN 1957 WITH SUBSTANTIAL HISTORY OF SAVING LIVES IN WHITBY. TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC INCLUDING YOUNG PEOPLE FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT AS TO THE HISTORIC, SOCIAL AND CULTURAL SIGNIFICANCE OF HELEN AND THE CRAFTS AND SKILLS INVOLVED IN HER BUILD AS PART OF THE HERITAGE OF THE AREA.
