Charitable objects
THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE TO PROVIDE RELIEF TO REFUGEES, ASYLUM SEEKERS AND MIGRANTS AND THEIR DEPENDENTS LIVING (TEMPORARILY OR PERMANENTLY) IN THE UK WHO ARE FROM THE BANYAMULENGE COMMUNITY BY THE PROVISION OF A DROP-IN CENTRE TO PROVIDE TRAINING FACILITIES AND SUPPORT SERVICES SO AS TO ADVANCE THEM IN LIFE AND ASSIST THEM WITH THE ADAPTION WITHIN A NEW COMMUNITY, WITH THE OBJECTS OF: - 1. PRESERVING AND PROTECTING PHYSICAL AND MENTAL HEALTH; 2. ADVANCING EDUCATION AND TRAINING; 3. RELIEVING FINANCIAL HARDSHIP AND UNEMPLOYMENT; AND 4. THE PROVISION OF FACILITIES FOR RECREATION OR OTHER LEISURE TIME OCCUPATION IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE WITH THE OBJECT OF IMPROVING THE CONDITIONS OF LIFE OF THOSE PERSONS WHO HAVE NEED OF SUCH FACILITIES BY REASON OF THEIR YOUTH, AGE, INFIRMITY OR DISABLEMENT, FINANCIAL HARDSHIP OR SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC CIRCUMSTANCES. NOTHING IN THIS CONSTITUTION SHALL AUTHORISE AN APPLICATION OF THE PROPERTY OF THE CIO FOR THE PURPOSES WHICH ARE NOT CHARITABLE.
