THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE TO PROMOTE THE BENEFIT OF THE INHABITANTS OF ST LUCIA BY: A) THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION BY THE PROVISION OF SCHOLARSHIPS, GRANTS AND FINANCIAL AID TO STUDENTS FROM ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED BACKGROUNDS ENABLING THEM TO ACCESS QUALITY EDUCATION AND PURSUE THEIR ACADEMIC ASPIRATIONS. B) THE PREVENTION OR RELIEF OF POVERTY BY PROVIDING: GRANTS, ITEMS AND SERVICES TO INDIVIDUALS IN NEED AND/OR CHARITIES, OR OTHER ORGANISATIONS WORKING TO PREVENT OR RELIEVE POVERTY. C) THE RELIEF OF SICKNESS AND PROMOTION OF HEALTH BY THE PROVISION OF INITIATIVES AIMED AT PROMOTING HEALTHY LIFESTYLES AND IMPROVING ACCESS TO HEALTHCARE SERVICES AT THE CARE HOMES AND HOSPITALS.
