THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE: 1. TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN THE HISTORY, HERITAGE AND SCIENCE OF RAILWAYS AND RAILWAY DEVELOPMENT, PARTICULARLY BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY WITHIN NORFOLK, AND THEIR IMPACT ON SOCIETY PAST AND PRESENT; 2. FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT, TO ESTABLISH AND MAINTAIN A MUSEUM FOR THE DISPLAY OF OBJECTS RELATED TO RAILWAYS AND FOR THE SHARING OF THE HISTORY AND HERITAGE OF THE PEOPLE WHO WORKED ON, USED AND ENJOYED THOSE RAILWAYS THROUGH EXHIBITIONS, INTERACTIVE DISPLAYS, AND OTHER ASSOCIATED PROJECTS.
