Charitable objects
THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO, TO BE CARRIED OUT FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT IN THE NORTH WEST OF ENGLAND, ARE: (1) TO RELIEVE THE SUFFERING OF UNWANTED, STRAY, ABANDONED AND INJURED CATS AND TO PROMOTE HUMANE BEHAVIOUR TOWARDS ANIMALS BY: (A) PROVIDING FOSTER HOMES OR OTHER FACILITIES FOR THE RECEPTION, CARE AND TREATMENT OF CATS IN NEED OF CARE AND ATTENTION BY REASON OF ABANDONMENT, MALTREATMENT, POOR CIRCUMSTANCES, OR ILL-USAGE; (B) PROVIDING APPROPRIATE VETERINARY CARE FOR SUCH CATS, INCLUDING TREATMENT OF ILLNESS, VACCINATION, NEUTERING AND MICROCHIPPING. (C) ACTIVELY SEEKING NEW, PERMANENT HOMES FOR RESCUED CATS IN LINE WITH OUR REHOMING POLICY; (D) EDUCATING THE PUBLIC IN MATTERS PERTAINING TO CAT WELFARE AND RESPONSIBLE PET OWNERSHIP AND THE PREVENTION OF CRUELTY AND SUFFERING AMONG ANIMALS IN GENERAL, IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY THROUGH THE PROVISION OF INFORMATION AND ADVICE, DESIGNED TO HIGHLIGHT THE IMPORTANCE OF NEUTERING AND MICROCHIPPING OF ALL CATS. (2) THE PREVENTION OR RELIEF OF POVERTY ON A CASE-BY-CASE BASIS THROUGH THE PROVISION OF CAT FOOD AND CAT LITTER, TO CAT OWNERS WHO ARE UNABLE TO PROVIDE SUCH ITEMS FOR THEIR PETS DUE TO ECONOMIC DISADVANTAGE.
