THE OBJECTS OF THE CHARITY ARE: TO PROMOTE THE EFFICIENCY OF 591 SIGNALS UNIT PERSONNEL BOTH PAST AND PRESENT IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY BY: (1) FOSTERING ESPRIT DE CORPS AND COMRADESHIP BY PROMOTING AND MAINTAINING CONTACT AMONG SERVING AND FORMER MEMBERS OF THE UNIT; AND (2) PRESERVING THE HISTORY AND TRADITIONS OF UNIT. NOTHING IN THIS CONSTITUTION SHALL AUTHORISE AN APPLICATION OF THE PROPERTY OF THE CIO FOR THE PURPOSES WHICH ARE NOT CHARITABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH [SECTION 7 OF THE CHARITIES AND TRUSTEE INVESTMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 2005] AND [SECTION 2 OF THE CHARITIES ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 2008].
