THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE TO ADVANCE THE ARTS, CULTURE, HERITAGE AND SCIENCE FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT, BY THE PROVISION OF GRANTS, LOANS AND OTHER FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO MUSEUMS, GALLERIES OR COMMUNITY ORGANISATIONS CONCERNED WITH ARTS, CULTURE, HERITAGE AND SCIENCE OPERATING IN THE LEEDS METROPOLITAN AREA AND WHICH ARE ESTABLISHED FOR PURPOSES THAT ADD VALUE TO THE COMMUNITY AS A WHOLE, OR A SIGNIFICANT SECTION OF THE COMMUNITY, AND WHICH ARE NOT PERMITTED BY THEIR CONSTITUTION TO MAKE A PROFIT FOR PRIVATE DISTRIBUTION.
