Charitable objects
THE OBJECT OF THE CIO IS THE PREVENTION OR RELIEF OF POVERTY IN THE UK BY: A) PROVIDING OPPORTUNITIES FOR PEOPLE IN POVERTY, AND/OR CHARITIES AND OTHER ORGANISATIONS WORKING TO PREVENT OR RELIEVE POVERTY THROUGH PARTICIPATORY ACTION, TO CONTRIBUTE TO, AND INFLUENCE, THE PUBLIC DEBATE ON POVERTY. B) THE PROVISION OF LEARNING, AWARENESS RAISING AND OTHER SUPPORT SERVICES TO INDIVIDUALS IN POVERTY AND/OR CHARITIES AND OTHER ORGANISATIONS WORKING TO PREVENT OR RELIEVE POVERTY THROUGH PARTICIPATORY ACTION. C) UNDERTAKING AND SUPPORTING PARTICIPATORY AWARENESS RAISING AND INSIGHT GATHERING AROUND THE FACTORS THAT CONTRIBUTE TO POVERTY AND THE MOST APPROPRIATE WAYS TO MITIGATE THESE. THE CIO WORKS TO FACILITATE THE PARTICIPATION OF PEOPLE WITH A DIRECT, LIVED EXPERIENCE OF POVERTY IN THE PLANNING, IMPLEMENTATION AND EVALUATION OF THE CIO'S ACTIONS AND ACTIVITIES. THE CIO SEEKS TO PROMOTE ITS APPROACH TO PARTICIPATION WITHIN THE UK ANTI-POVERTY SECTOR.
