Charitable objects
THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE (A) TO RELIEVE POVERTY AND HARDSHIP BY ASSISTING (WHETHER WITH GRANTS OF MONEY OR PROVISION OF NECESSARY EQUIPMENT OR SERVICES), EITHER GENERALLY OR INDIVIDUALLY, SERVING OR FORMER MEMBERS OF THE REGIMENT (OR FORMER REGIMENTS NOW FORMING PART OF THE REGIMENT) AND THEIR DEPENDANTS WHO ARE IN NEED OR ARE SUFFERING HARDSHIP. (B) TO FOSTER AND SUPPORT COMRADESHIP AMONGST SERVING OR FORMER MEMBERS OF THE REGIMENT AND THEIR DEPENDANTS WITH ALL MEANS POSSIBLE AND WITHIN THE WIDER ARMED FORCES COMMUNITY AND ITS CONSTITUENT ELEMENTS. (C) TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC AND MEMBERS OF THE REGIMENT IN THE HISTORY AND MILITARY ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF THE REGIMENT AND TO PROMOTE MILITARY EFFICIENCY AND ENCOURAGE RECRUITMENT BY PUBLIC EXHIBITION OF THE REGIMENT'S COLLECTION (ENTERED IN THE QRH ACCESSION BOOK/CATALOGUE OR ELECTRONIC EQUIVALENT) OF UNIFORMS, MEDALS, PICTURES, SILVER, DOCUMENTS AND OTHER SIMILAR OR ASSOCIATED ARTICLES OR ARTEFACTS IN A MUSEUM OR MUSEUMS OR SUCH OTHER PUBLIC PLACES AS THE CHARITY TRUSTEES MAY DECIDE. (D) TO CONSERVE THE COLLECTION FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE REGIMENT; TO MAINTAIN, INSURE, RESTORE, REPAIR AND DISPOSE OF PROPERTY IN REGIMENTAL LOCATIONS OR OTHER SUCH PLACES AS THE CHARITY TRUSTEES MAY DECIDE. (E) TO PROMOTE THE EFFICIENCY OF THE REGIMENT BY ANY CHARITABLE MEANS THE CHARITY TRUSTEES CONSIDER BENEFICIAL FOR ALL ITS ACTIVITIES AND INTERESTS.
