THE OBJECT[S] OF THE CIO ARE: (1) TO ADVANCE THE AMATEUR SPORT OF FIELD HOCKEY FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT, IN EAST GRINSTEAD, WEST SUSSEX AND THE SURROUNDING AREA, BY PROVIDING OR ASSISTING IN THE PROVISION OF FACILITIES FOR CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE TO PLAY FIELD HOCKEY ("FACILITIES") MEANS LAND, BUILDINGS, EQUIPMENT AND ORGANISING FIELD HOCKEY ACTIVITIES). (2) TO PROMOTE COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION IN HEALTHY RECREATION BY THE PROVISION OF FACILITIES FOR PLAYING FIELD HOCKEY (FACILITIES MEANS LAND, BUILDINGS, EQUIPMENT AND ORGANISING FIELD HOCKEY ACTIVITIES). (3) TO ADVANCE THE PHYSICAL EDUCATION OF CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE IN EAST GRINSTEAD, WEST SUSSEX AND THE SURROUNDING AREA, WHETHER OR NOT UNDERGOING FORMAL EDUCATION IN PARTICULAR BY THE PROVISION OF FACILITIES FOR PLAYING THE AMATEUR SPORT OF FIELD HOCKEY.
