Charitable objects
THE FOLLOWING OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT: (I) TO ADVANCE THE HINDU RELIGION BY ORGANISING HINDU RELIGIOUS CEREMONIES AND PERFORMING TRADITIONAL RITES AND PRACTICES. (II) TO ADVANCE BENGALI ARTS, CULTURE AND HERITAGE, IN PARTICULAR, BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING INITIATIVES: A) CULTURAL FESTIVALS: ORGANISING ANNUAL CULTURAL FESTIVALS CELEBRATING BENGALI TRADITIONS, SUCH AS DURGA PUJA, POHELA BOISHAKH (BENGALI NEW YEAR), AND OTHER SIGNIFICANT CULTURAL EVENTS. B) MUSIC AND DANCE PROGRAMS: ARRANGING PERFORMANCES IN BENGALI MUSIC AND DANCE FORMS, INCLUDING RABINDRA SANGEET, NAZRUL GEETI, BAUL SONGS, AND TRADITIONAL DANCE STYLES LIKE BHARATANATYAM AND KATHAK; AND C) FILM SCREENINGS AND THEATRICAL PERFORMANCES: SCREENING CLASSIC AND CONTEMPORARY BENGALI FILMS AND STAGE THEATRICAL PERFORMANCES THAT REFLECT BENGALI CULTURE AND SOCIAL THEMES. PAGE | 2 (III) TO PROMOTE COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION IN HEALTHY RECREATION BY PROVIDING FACILITIES AND COACHING FOR CRICKET, FOOTBALL, AND OTHER SPORTS AND ACTIVITIES CAPABLE OF PROMOTING PHYSICAL HEALTH AND FITNESS. (IV) TO PRESERVE AND PROTECT PHYSICAL AND MENTAL HEALTH BY ORGANISING HEALTH WORKSHOPS AND MENTAL HEALTH INITIATIVES FOCUSING ON PREVENTIVE CARE, CHRONIC DISEASE MANAGEMENT AND MENTAL HEALTH. NOTHING IN THIS CONSTITUTION SHALL AUTHORISE AN APPLICATION OF THE PROPERTY OF THE CLO FOR THE PURPOSES WHICH ARE NOT CHARITABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH [SECTION 7 OF THE CHARITIES AND TRUSTEE INVESTMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 2005] AND [SECTION 2 OF THE CHARITIES ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 2008].
