THE OBJECT OF THE CIO IS: THE RELIEF OF SICKNESS AND PRESERVATION OF HEALTH FOR PEOPLE SUFFERING FROM LEIOMYOSARCOMA (A TYPE OF RARE CANCER THAT GROWS IN SMOOTH MUSCLES) IN THE UNITED KINGDOM, IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY BY: (A) EDUCATING THE PUBLIC, THOSE SUFFERING FROM LEIOMYOSARCOMA, AND OTHERS ABOUT LEIOMYOSARCOMA AND RAISING AWARENESS OF ITS PREVALENCE, DIAGNOSIS, TREATMENT AND LATEST RESEARCH. (B) PROMOTING AND SUPPORTING RESEARCH INTO LEIOMYOSARCOMA AND DISSEMINATING THE USEFUL RESULTS FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT. (C) PROVIDING SUPPORT FORUMS, INFORMATION, PRACTICAL ADVICE AND SUPPORT FOR PEOPLE AFFECTED BY LEIOMYOSARCOMA, THEIR FAMILIES AND FRIENDS.
