Charitable objects
THE COMPANY’S OBJECT (“THE OBJECT”) IS: 1. FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT, TO ADVANCE EDUCATION BY SUPPORTING SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS IN THE CORE SUBJECTS OF MATHEMATICS, ENGLISH LANGUAGE, AND THE SCIENCES PRIMARILY WITHIN THE LONDON BOROUGH OF SOUTHWARK, AND BY SUPPORTING THE SECONDARY SCHOOL EDUCATION AND BACHELOR’S DEGREE STUDIES OF "ACADEMICALLY ABLE STUDENTS” FROM SOCIALLY AND ECONOMICALLY DEPRIVED COMMUNITIES IN SIERRA LEONE. THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF GIFTED CHILDREN DEFINES ACADEMICALLY GIFTED STUDENTS AS: “THOSE STUDENTS WHO DEMONSTRATE OUTSTANDING LEVELS OF APTITUDE (DEFINED AS AN EXCEPTIONAL ABILITY TO REASON AND LEARN) OR COMPETENCE (DOCUMENTED PERFORMANCE OR ACHIEVEMENT IN TOP 10% OR RARER) IN ONE OR MORE DOMAINS, WITH THE POTENTIAL TO DEVELOP SIGNIFICANTLY AHEAD OF THEIR PEERS. GIFTED LEARNERS ARE THOSE WITH ABILITIES IN ONE OR MORE ACADEMIC SUBJECTS, SUCH AS MATHS OR ENGLISH. TALENTED LEARNERS ARE THOSE WHO HAVE PRACTICAL SKILLS IN AREAS SUCH AS SPORTS, MUSIC, DESIGN, OR CREATIVE AND PERFORMING ARTS. SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES SUCH AS LEADERSHIP, DECISION-MAKING, AND ORGANISATION MAY ALSO BE TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT.” (JOHNSEN, 2018). 2 ADOPTING THIS DEFINITION, EDUCATED A CHILD CONCEIVES ABLED STUDENTS AS INDIVIDUALS WHO DEMONSTRATE STRONG INTELLECTUAL AND COGNITIVE CAPABILITIES, INDICATING THAT THEY HAVE MORE POTENTIAL. NOTHING IN THIS CONSTITUTION SHALL AUTHORISE AN APPLICATION OF THE PROPERTY OF EDUCATE A CHILD FOR THE PURPOSES WHICH ARE NOT CHARITABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH [SECTION 7 OF THE CHARITIES AND TRUSTEE INVESTMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 2005] AND [SECTION 2 OF THE CHARITIES ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 2008].
