Charitable objects

THE OBJECT OF THE CIO IS TO PROMOTE COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION IN HEALTHY RECREATION FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT, IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY, BY THE PROVISION OF FACILITIES FOR CHILDREN LIVING IN THE LOCAL COMMUNITY, IN AND AROUND BRENTWOOD IN ESSEX, TO PARTICIPATE IN LOCAL CLUB FOOTBALL. FOR THE PURPOSES OF THIS CLAUSE, ‘IN AND AROUND BRENTWOOD’ MEANS THE AREA COVERED BY BRENTWOOD BOROUGH COUNCIL AND ITS ASSOCIATED WARDS, PARISHES AND DISTRICTS AND ANY OTHER AREA WITHIN THE COUNTY OF ESSEX THAT IS SUBSEQUENTLY AGREED BY THE TRUSTEES OF THE CIO. NOTHING IN THIS CONSTITUTION SHALL AUTHORISE AN APPLICATION OF THE PROPERTY OF THE CIO FOR PURPOSES WHICH ARE NOT CHARITABLE ACCORDING TO THE LAW OF ENGLAND AND WALES.
