Charitable objects
SUBJECT TO THE PAYMENT OF THE EXPENSES REFERRED TO IN CLAUSE 4 THE CHARITY TRUSTEES MAY APPLY SUCH YEARLY SUMS AS THEY THINK FIT, IN OR TOWARDS PROVIDING FOR ANY SECONDARY SCHOOL IN THE PARISHES OF ALCESTER, KINWARTON, ARROW AND WEETHLEY, IN THE COUNTY OF WARWICKSHIRE (?AREA OF BENEFIT?) SUCH SPECIAL BENEFITS OF ANY KIND NOT NORMALLY PROVIDED BY THE LOCAL EDUCATION AUTHORITY OR, WHERE THAT AUTHORITY HAS IMPLEMENTED LOCAL MANAGEMENT OF SCHOOLS IN CONSEQUENCE OF WHICH THE BUDGET HAS BEEN DEVOLVED TO THE HEAD TEACHER AND THE GOVERNORS OF THE SCHOOL CONCERNED, SUCH SPECIAL BENEFITS OF ANY KIND NOT NORMALLY PROVIDED FOR IN THE BUDGET, AS MAY FROM TIME TO TIME BE AGREED BETWEEN THE CHARITY TRUSTEES AND THE GOVERNORS OR THE HEAD TEACHER AND THE GOVERNORS OF THE SCHOOL CONCERNED. 3.2 SUBJECT THERETO THE CHARITY TRUSTEES SHALL APPLY THE INCOME OF THE CHARITY IN PROMOTING THE EDUCATION (INCLUDING SOCIAL AND PHYSICAL TRAINING) OF PERSONS UNDER THE AGE OF 25 YEARS WHO OR WHOSE PARENTS ARE OR WERE RESIDENT IN THE AREA OF BENEFIT OR WHO ARE ATTENDING, OR HAVE AT ANY TIME ATTENDED A SECONDARY SCHOOL IN THE AREA OR' BENEFIT AND WHO ARE IN NEED OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AND IN PARTICULAR BUT WITHOUT PREJUDICE TO THE GENERALITY OF THE FOREGOING - (A) IN AWARDING TO SUCH PERSONS SCHOLARSHIPS, EXHIBITIONS, BURSARIES, MAINTENANCE ALLOWANCES OR GRANTS TENABLE AT ANY SCHOOL, UNIVERSITY, COLLEGE OF EDUCATION, OR OTHER INSTITUTION OF FURTHER (INCLUDING PROFESSIONAL AND TECHNICAL) EDUCATION APPROVED FOR THE PURPOSE BY THE CHARITY TRUSTEES; (B) IN PROVIDING FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE, OUTFITS, CLOTHING, TOOLS, INSTRUMENTS OR BOOKS TO ASSIST SUCH PERSONS TO PURSUE THEIR EDUCATION (INCLUDING THE STUDY OF MUSIC AND OTHER ARTS) TO UNDERTAKE TRAVEL IN FURTHERANCE THEREOF, OR TO PREPARE FOR OR ENTER A PROFESSION, TRADE, OCCUPATION OR SERVICE ON LEAVING SCHOOL, UNIVERSITY, OR OTHER EDUCATIONAL ESTABLISHMENT. 3.3 THE CHARITY TRUSTEES SHALL HAVE REGARD TO THE DESIRABILITY OF CONSULTING THE LOCAL EDUCATION AUTHORITY AS TO THEIR GENERAL ACTION UNDER SUB-CLAUSES 3.1 AND 3.2 OF THIS CLAUSE AND, IF OCCASION REQUIRES, AS TO THE EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS OF CANDIDATES FOR BENEFIT.
