Charitable objects

THE CHARITY'S OBJECTS (OBJECTS) ARE SPECIFICALLY RESTRICTED TO THE FOLLOWING CHARITABLE PURPOSES FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT IN THE UNITED KINGDOM AND ELSEWHERE: 3.1 TO PROMOTE COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION IN HEALTHY RECREATION IN PARTICULAR BY PROVIDING OR ASSISTING IN THE PROVISION OF FACILITIES FOR PARTICIPATION IN CYCLING AND OTHER ACTIVITIES CAPABLE OF IMPROVING HEALTH (AND IN THIS ARTICLE FACILITIES MEANS LAND, BUILDINGS, EQUIPMENT AND ORGANISING SPORTING ACTIVITY); 3.2 TO PROVIDE RELIEF AND ASSISTANCE TO PEOPLE IN NEED BY MEANS OF ILL-HEALTH, DISABILITY, OR SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC CIRCUMSTANCES IN PARTICULAR BY MAKING GRANTS THAT FUND OR SUPPORT THEIR ACCESS TO AND PARTICIPATION IN CYCLING; 3.3 TO RELIEVE FROM (OR PREVENT) POVERTY, FINANCIAL HARDSHIP OR DISTRESS AMONG CURRENT OR FORMER CYCLISTS IN NEED (OR AT RISK OF FALLING INTO NEED) TOGETHER WITH THEIR DEPENDANTS IN PARTICULAR BY PROVIDING OR ASSISTING IN THE PROVISION OF GRANTS, LOANS OR OTHER FORMS OF ASSISTANCE. IN ARTICLE 3.3: (A) “CYCLIST” SHALL REFER TO ANY INDIVIDUAL WHO HAS EVER: (I) REPRESENTED, OR BEEN SELECTED TO REPRESENT, ANY COUNTRY OR NATION IN THE SPORT OF CYCLING AT THE OLYMPIC GAMES, THE PARALYMPIC GAMES, YOUTH OLYMPIC GAMES, THE COMMONWEALTH GAMES, THE COMMONWEALTH YOUTH GAMES OR ANY INTERNATIONAL RACE, COMPETITION OR EVENT ORGANIZED BY THE UNION CYCLISTE INTERNATIONALE, THE UNION EUROPÉENNE DE CYCLISME OR THE BRITISH CYCLING FEDERATION; OR (II) PARTICIPATED IN ANY TOUR, RACE, COMPETITION OR EVENT IN THE SPORT OF CYCLING IN GREAT BRITAIN AND WHICH IS RECOGNISED BY THE UNION CYCLISTE INTERNATIONALE, THE UNION EUROPÉENNE DE CYCLISME OR THE BRITISH CYCLING FEDERATION; (B) “THE SPORT OF CYCLING” SHALL REFER TO ROAD, TRACK, MOUNTAIN BIKE, BMX FREESTYLE, BMX RACING, INDOOR CYCLING, TRIALS, CYCLO-CROSS, GRAVEL AND ANY OTHER CYCLING DISCIPLINE RECOGNISED BY THE UNION CYCLISTE INTERNATIONALE, THE UNION EUROPÉENNE DE CYCLISME OR THE BRITISH CYCLING FEDERATION FROM TIME TO TIME.
