Charitable objects
THE OBJECTS OF THE CHARITY ('THE OBJECTS') ARE THE ADVANCEMENT OF THE SIKH RELIGION AND TO ATTAIN THIS OBJECT THE GURDWARA MAY: I) ORGANISE RELIGIOUS FUNCTIONS /PROGRAMMES, CELEBRATING SIKH FESTIVALS, PROMOTING HUMAN UNITY, AND THE TEACHINGS OF THE SIKH GURUS. II) PROVIDE A WELCOMING AND INCLUSIVE PLACE OF WORSHIP FOR ALL MEMBERS OF THE SIKH COMMUNITY, WITH PRAYER FACILITIES AVAILABLE FOR INDIVIDUALS AND GROUPS. III) OFFER FACILITIES FOR RELIGIOUS FUNCTIONS AND CEREMONIES, INCLUDING WEDDINGS, BIRTH CEREMONIES, AND FUNERALS, TO ENABLE THE COMMUNITY TO COME TOGETHER AND CELEBRATE IMPORTANT MILESTONES. IV) OFFER A COMPREHENSIVE SET OF RESOURCES ON SIKH RELIGION, CULTURE, AND HISTORY, INCLUDING BOOKS, PERIODICALS, MULTIMEDIA MATERIALS, AND OTHER RELEVANT RESOURCES, TO ENABLE MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY TO DEEPEN THEIR KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING. V) PROMOTE AWARENESS OF SIKH CULTURE, RELIGION, AND HISTORY, AND TO PRESERVE AND DEVELOP SIKH CULTURAL HERITAGE AND WAY OF LIFE THROUGH EDUCATION, EVENTS, AND COMMUNITY INITIATIVES. VI) FOSTER COMMUNICATION AND GOOD RELATIONS BETWEEN PEOPLE OF DIFFERENT RELIGIONS, RACES, AND CULTURAL BACKGROUNDS, PROMOTING TOLERANCE, UNDERSTANDING, AND RESPECT. VII) SUPPORT THE DISSEMINATION OF SIKH PHILOSOPHY AND CULTURE THROUGH PRINTING, PUBLISHING, AND DISTRIBUTING SIKH RELIGIOUS LITERATURE, AS WELL AS EDITING AND PUBLISHING MATERIALS RELATED TO THE PROMOTION OF SIKH RELIGION, FOSTERING UNDERSTANDING AND ENLIGHTENMENT. VIII) MAKE REPRESENTATIONS TO CENTRAL AND LOCAL AUTHORITIES ON MATTERS OF COMMON INTEREST TO THE SIKH COMMUNITY, ADVOCATING FOR THE NEEDS AND CONCERNS OF THE COMMUNITY. IX) ARRANGE LECTURES, SEMINARS, AND DISCUSSIONS ON THE TENETS OF SIKH RELIGION, ENCOURAGING LEARNING AND THE EXCHANGE OF IDEAS AMONG COMMUNITY MEMBERS. X) PROVIDE A MEETING PLACE FOR SIKHS OF ALL BACKGROUNDS AND BELIEFS, AS WELL AS FOR THOSE INTERESTED IN LEARNING ABOUT THE SIKH RELIGION, PROMOTING COMMUNITY, INCLUSIVITY, AND DIALOGUE. XI) OFFER HEALTH FACILITIES AND OTHER RESOURCES TO IMPROVE THE WELLBEING OF COMMUNITY MEMBERS.
