Charitable objects
THE OBJECTS OF SPOTLIGHT CIO ARE 1.TO PROMOTE SOCIAL INCLUSION FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT BY PREVENTING PEOPLE FROM BECOMING SOCIALLY EXCLUDED, RELIEVING THE NEEDS OF THOSE PEOPLE WHO ARE SOCIALLY EXCLUDED AND ASSISTING THEM TO INTEGRATE INTO SOCIETY BY PROVIDING: A) INFORMATION, ADVOCACY, AND GENERAL SUPPORT; B) A LOCAL NETWORK GROUP TO ENCOURAGE AND ENABLE PARTICIPATION IN THE WIDER COMMUNITY; C) EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND VOCATIONAL SKILLS DEVELOPMENT; D) MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT, PARTICULARLY ADDRESSING THE NEEDS OF MARGINALISED COMMUNITIES IN A SAFE AND INCLUSIVE SPACE, REDUCING STIGMA. FOR THE PURPOSE OF THIS CLAUSE ‘SOCIALLY EXCLUDED’ MEANS BEING EXCLUDED FROM SOCIETY, OR PART OF SOCIETY, AS A RESULT OF THEIR STATUS AS REFUGEES OR ASYLUM SEEKERS OR AS MEMBERS OF MINORITY ETHNIC BME COMMUNITIES AS WELL AS OTHER PEOPLE WHO ARE MEMBERS OF A SOCIALLY AND ECONOMICALLY DEPRIVED COMMUNITY. 2. TO PROMOTE FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE INHABITANTS OF CALDERDALE AND THE SURROUNDING AREA THE PROVISION OF FACILITIES FOR RECREATION OR OTHER LEISURE TIME OCCUPATION OF INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE NEED OF SUCH FACILITIES BY REASON OF THEIR YOUTH, AGE, INFIRMITY OR DISABLEMENT, FINANCIAL HARDSHIP OR SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC CIRCUMSTANCES OR FOR THE PUBLIC AT LARGE IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE AND WITH THE OBJECT OF IMPROVING THE CONDITION OF LIFE OF THE SAID INHABITANTS.
