Activities - how the charity spends its money
Patoss is the Professional Association of Teachers of Students with Specific Learning Difficulties, for all those concerned with the teaching and support of pupils with SpLD, for example dyslexic, dyspraxic, dyscalculic, ADHD. We offer accredited qualifications, CPD trainings, mentoring, DBS checks, APC accreditation, professional helpline and Members Forum, a range of publications and advice.

Charitable objects
THE OBJECTS OF THE CHARITY ("THE OBJECTS") ARE THE: 3. ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC, IN PARTICULAR TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF PEOPLE WITH SPECIFIC LEARNING DIFFICULTIES (SPLD) BY SUPPORTING THOSE PROFESSIONALS AND OTHERS WHO TEACH, ASSESS AND SUPPORT THEM AND BY ANY OTHER MEANS, SO FAR AS THEY BE CHARITABLE, THAT THE TRUSTEES MAY FROM TIME TO TIME THINK FIT, IN PARTICULAR BY:- A. ESTABLISHING AND MAINTAINING THE PROFESSIONAL STATUS OF PERSONS QUALIFIED TO TEACH STUDENTS WITH SPECIFIC LEARNING DIFFICULTIES BY GIVING A PROFESSIONAL CORPORATE RESPONSE TO THE GOVERNMENT DEPARTMENT RESPONSIBLE FOR EDUCATION AND TRAINING ON MATTERS AFFECTING STUDENTS WITH SPECIFIC LEARNING DIFFICULTIES, ENABLING MEMBERS TO UPDATE AND EXTEND THEIR KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS AND TO EXCHANGE IDEAS THROUGH AN ANNUAL CONFERENCE, BULLETINS AND LOCAL GROUPS AND PROMOTING THE CONTINUED PROVISION AND DEVELOPMENT OF APPROPRIATE SPECIALIST QUALIFICATIONS IN THE TEACHING OF STUDENTS WITH SPECIFIC LEARNING DIFFICULTIES; AND B. PROMOTING FULLER UNDERSTANDING AND RECOGNITION OF SPECIFIC LEARNING DIFFICULTIES TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC AND PROFESSIONALS BY ENCOURAGING RESEARCH INTO SPECIFIC LEARNING DIFFICULTIES AT ALL LEVELS AND DISSEMINATING THE RESULTS OF THIS RESEARCH, PROMOTING GREATER UNDERSTANDING AND RECOGNITION OF SPECIFIC LEARNING DIFFICULTIES AND SHARING KNOWLEDGE, AWARENESS AND UNDERSTANDING OF THE SAME AT ALL LEVELS, ENCOURAGING THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE TEACHING OF PEOPLE WITH SPECIFIC LEARNING DIFFICULTIES AT ALL LEVELS AND PROMOTING COMMUNICATION AND MUTUAL RESPECT BETWEEN PRACTITIONERS, RESEARCHERS AND OTHERS ENGAGED AND INTERESTED IN THIS FIELD.
