Charitable objects
THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE TO ADVANCE IN LIFE AND RELIEVE NEEDS OF YOUNG PEOPLE IN (BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY) THE CHELTENHAM BOROUGH COUNCIL AND GLOUCESTERSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL AREAS BY:- (A) PROVIDING SUPPORT AND ACTIVITIES WHICH DEVELOP THEIR SKILLS, CAPACITIES AND CAPABILITIES TO ENABLE THEM TO PARTICIPATE IN SOCIETY AS MATURE AND RESPONSIBLE INDIVIDUALS; (B) PROVIDING OUTSTANDING EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES FOR SCHOOL-AGE PUPILS REGARDLESS OF SOCIAL, ECONOMIC OR EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND; (C) FOSTERING THE PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT AND WELL-BEING OF YOUNG PEOPLE THROUGH FORMAL AND INFORMAL EDUCATION; (E) PROMOTING HIGH STANDARDS OF TEACHING AND COLLABORATION THROUGH PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR TEACHERS; AND (F) PROMOTING RESPECT, COOPERATION AND COLLABORATION WITHIN THE EDUCATION SECTOR AND WITH OTHER ORGANISATIONS IN ORDER TO SUPPORT THE PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT OF YOUNG PEOPLE. NOTHING IN THIS CONSTITUTION SHALL AUTHORISE AN APPLICATION OF THE PROPERTY OF THE CIO FOR THE PURPOSES WHICH ARE NOT CHARITABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 7 OF THE CHARITIES AND TRUSTEE INVESTMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 2005 AND SECTION 2 OF THE CHARITIES ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 2008.
