Charitable objects
THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT, TO RELIEVE POVERTY IN THE TOWN, OR VICINITY, OF SHERBURN IN ELMET, NORTH YORKSHIRE BY:- (A) PROVIDING NON-PERISHABLE FOOD PARCELS; AND (B) PROVIDING INFORMATION TO THE PUBLIC ABOUT ALL ASPECTS OF POVERTY AND PROVIDING ADVICE TO THE PUBLIC ABOUT HOW TO ACCESS FOOD IN THE EVENT OF FINANCIAL DIFFICULTIES. THE CIO WILL OPERATE WITHOUT DISTINCTION OF SEX, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, RACE, ETHNICITY, OR OF POLITICAL, RELIGIOUS OR OTHER OPINIONS BY PROVIDING A SERVICE IN THE INTERESTS OF TACKLING POVERTY FOR RESIDENTS. NOTHING IN THIS CONSTITUTION SHALL AUTHORISE AN APPLICATION OF THE PROPERTY OF THE CIO FOR THE PURPOSES WHICH ARE NOT CHARITABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH [SECTION 7 OF THE CHARITIES AND TRUSTEE INVESTMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 2005] AND [SECTION 2 OF THE CHARITIES ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 2008].
