Charitable objects

THE OBJECT OF THE CIO IS: FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT, THE ADVANCEMENT OF HEALTH OR THE SAVING OF LIVES BY PROVIDING PRACTICAL ADVICE AND SUPPORT TO BEREAVED PEOPLE IN THE UK IN ORDER TO ENSURE THAT, AS FAR AS POSSIBLE, THEIR MENTAL, PHYSICAL AND EMOTIONAL WELL-BEING IS PROTECTED FROM HARM CAUSED BY THE IMPACT OF BEREAVEMENT. NOTHING IN THIS CONSTITUTION SHALL AUTHORISE AN APPLICATION OF THE PROPERTY OF THE CIO FOR THE PURPOSES WHICH ARE NOT CHARITABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 7 OF THE CHARITIES AND TRUSTEE INVESTMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 2005 AND SECTION 2 OF THE CHARITIES ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 2008.
