THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE (1) TO PROMOTE, FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC, THE PRESERVATION, RESTORATION, AND MAINTENANCE OF THE PHYSICAL AND NATURAL ENVIRONMENT OF THE NEATH CANAL AS A NAVIGABLE INLAND WATERWAY WITHIN THE COMMUNITIES OF THE NEATH VALLEY. (2) TO ADVANCE PUBLIC EDUCATION IN THE HISTORY AND USE OF THE CANAL AND ITS SURROUNDINGS. (3) TO PROVIDE OR ASSIST IN THE PROVISION OF FACILITIES FOR RECREATION OR OTHER LEISURE TIME OCCUPATION OF THE PUBLIC IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE AND IMPROVING CONDITIONS OF LIFE.
