THE OBJECT[S] OF THE CIO [IS][ARE] TO PROMOTE ANY CHARITABLE PURPOSE FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE COMMUNITY IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LAWS OF ENGLAND AND WALES, FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE COMMUNITIES IN THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT DISTRICTS OF NEWARK AND SHERWOOD AND RUSHCLIFFE (PRINCIPALLY) AND NEIGHBOURING DISTRICTS, IN PARTICULAR, THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION; THE PRESERVATION AND PROTECTION OF GOOD HEALTH AND THE RELIEF OF POVERTY AND SICKNESS. TO PROMOTE AND ORGANIZE CO-OPERATION IN THE ACHIEVEMENT OF THE ABOVE PURPOSES AND TO THAT END TO BRING TOGETHER IN COUNCIL, REPRESENTATIVES OF THE VOLUNTARY ORGANIZATIONS AND STATUTORY AUTHORITIES WITHIN THE AREA OF BENEFIT. NOTHING IN THIS CONSTITUTION SHALL AUTHORISE AN APPLICATION OF THE PROPERTY OF THE CIO FOR THE PURPOSES WHICH ARE NOT CHARITABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH [SECTION 7 OF THE CHARITIES AND TRUSTEE INVESTMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 2005] AND [SECTION 2 OF THE CHARITIES ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 2008].
