Charitable objects
THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE TO ADVANCE SUCH CHARITABLE PURPOSE (ACCORDING TO THE LAW OF ENGLAND AND WALES) AS THE TRUSTEES SEE FIT FROM TIME TO TIME, IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT LIMITED TO RELIEVING POVERTY, RELIEVING OR PREVENTING SICKNESS AND IMPROVING HEALTH ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD BY: (1) MAKING GRANTS TO CHARITIES AND NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANISATIONS; (2) PROVIDING OR ASSISTING IN THE PROVISION OF ITEMS, FACILITIES AND SERVICES THAT WILL RELIEVE POVERTY, RELIEVE OR PREVENT SICKNESS OR IMPROVE HEALTH. NOTHING IN THIS CONSTITUTION SHALL AUTHORISE AN APPLICATION OF THE PROPERTY OF THE CIO FOR PURPOSES WHICH ARE NOT CHARITABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 7 OF THE CHARITIES AND TRUSTEE INVESTMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 2005 AND SECTION 2 OF THE CHARITIES ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 2008.
